I’m dedicated to many aspects of personal growth and health. My priorities are deepening relationships with God, family, friends, and my community. One way I live this is through my passion for adventure, health, and sports. I’m a proud Honolulu resident, a family man with an inspiring partner, and three vibrant young girls. I’m also a supporting member of the Oahu Church of Christ, PSI community, F45 & Kekoa Collective communities, and Honolulu community volunteer.
Regarding my educational background, I received my bachelor of science degree in Exercise Science from the University of California Davis in 2000 and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007 from the Western University of Health Sciences. I worked 4 years in sports and orthopedic rehab as an aid to an Orthopedic Clinical Director and as a strength and conditioning trainer. I earned my NSCA Strength and Conditioning Certification in 2007, my certification for clinical instruction in 2009, and became credentialed Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2012. I spent the next 7 years of my career at a hub for physical therapy and learning, The Glendale Adventist Therapy and Wellness Center. There in Southern California, I consistently surrounded myself with driven colleagues and mentors where I dedicated myself to advancing my knowledge on healing and movement. I completed multiple advanced, year-long Orthopedics and biomechanics programs, and began developing my affinity for treating athletes. Since 2007, I’ve been a therapist for athletes ranging from youth sports to Olympic level professionals, military, special forces, police, fire, and members of the Oahu Lifeguard. Since my move to Hawaii in 2014, I spent another few years at Orthosport Hawaii where I worked as an orthopedic residency mentor and sports therapist until I opened my own business in 2018.
I love athletics. I believe a powerful part of me as well as most others are awakened by challenging, physical and mental interactions with our surroundings. These are heightened especially in nature. I’ve been heavily involved in a diversity of individual sports ranging from mountaineering, mountain biking, muay tai, snowboarding, cycling, golf, and tennis in addition to team sports such as soccer and football. In the past year, I divide my time between Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, rock climbing, road and trail running, and surfing. Along with my own athletic pursuits, I also enjoy volunteering my time leading running and exercise groups for my friends and family.
